Introduction to Home Cinema
Home Cinema is a free and open-source application designed for watching movies. The app does not provide any content itself, and its primary purpose is to act as a client for connecting to users' own servers to view their movies.
Responsibility for Content and Access Rights
We are not responsible for the copyright of films or the user's access rights to their servers. We do not sell, provide services, rent, suggest, or advertise any film business services such as Netflix, Plex Server, etc. Users are solely responsible for copyright ownership or access rights to the files displayed in the app.
Information Collection and Use
No User Data on Our Servers: The app does not send or store any user information on our servers — our server only has a single API to fetch home screen content. Internal Device ID: The app generates its own internal device ID for internal functions only; it does not use system-level identifiers or advertising IDs and does not collect OS or device performance data. Local Log Files (debug only): Activity logs are stored locally on your device, containing only general information — no passwords or encryption keys — and are only sent when you explicitly initiate the action. External Content: Movie posters, trailers, and ratings displayed in the app come from free, non-commercial sources; we do not share or use copyrighted material.
User Login and Server Information
The app does not require mandatory user login. However, the app allows users to connect to their own movie servers, which may require entering server login credentials within the app. This information is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Security
We are committed to protecting your information. Since we do not collect or store personally identifiable information on our servers, your privacy risks are significantly minimized. Local log files, if any, are securely stored on your device and are only sent with your explicit consent.
Content and Child Users
The app may display movie posters that might not be suitable for children — for example, scenes depicting violence or mature themes. We do not target child users.
VLC Library
We use the VLC library for video processing. This library does not collect any data.
Monetization
The app is completely free, with no in-app purchases or external sales.
